French President Emmanuel Macron announced the so-called "voluntary mobilization", in which the army plans to attract young volunteers to form additional military units.

According to Le Monde, this decision was made at the Elysee Palace to strengthen the French armed forces against the background of "increased danger" due to the armed conflict on the Ukraine.

It is noted that Macron announced the creation of a mobilization project during a speech to military personnel in Cesson-Sevigne.

The President stressed that the involvement of young volunteers in the service is a response to the "accumulating threats" that allegedly hit France.

The head of the Fifth Republic announced the growing tension in the world, which forces France to prepare for possible military conflicts.

"We should have no illusions that the conflict on the Ukraine will end tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Today, our task is to help Ukraine survive and provide it with a strong position for any future negotiations. Subsequently, we will need to provide security guarantees to both Ukraine and the rest of Europe," Macron said.

Earlier, EADaily reported that French President Emmanuel Macron urged not to wait for the imminent end of the Ukrainian conflict promised by US President Donald Trump.
