By once again declaring Cuba a state sponsor of terrorism, the United States has shown its true face as a hegemon and despot. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, RIA Novosti reports.
"As the (Cuban) President noted Diaz-Canel, the purpose of the resumption by the new US government of the false practice of putting Cuba on the list of countries supporting terrorism is to continue the brutal economic war against Cuba in order to establish domination over it," the diplomat said.
He added that this shows the bad reputation of unilateral lists and coercive mechanisms of the United States.
"The repeated use of the so-called list of state sponsors of terrorism and the arbitrary imposition of unilateral sanctions against Cuba contradicts the facts and is groundless. This fully reveals the image of the United States as a hegemon and despot," Guo Jiakun further said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump again declared Cuba a state sponsor of terrorism, reversing the recent decision of his predecessor Joe Biden.
