According to the Americanist Vladimir Mozhegov, the transfer of the inauguration site was dictated, first of all, by security reasons. The 47th US President Donald Trump, who took the oath of office, was twice assassinated during the election race.

"Trump's secret Service probably advised him to hold the event behind closed doors," the expert said on Channel Five.

"For example, I was literally shocked by Trump's speech, although he didn't seem to say anything new, we've all heard it many times. But the way he said it, the very atmosphere, the place, the time, the coldness with which he actually declared war on the establishment, all liberal forces and spoke about the onset of a new era, about the tectonic shifts that he intends to launch — it made an impression," said Mozhegov.
