"They know how to mock allies": Musk renamed the English Channel into the Washington channel

American entrepreneur Elon Musk proposed renaming the European English Channel to the channel named after the first US President George Washington.

Today, on January 26, Elon Musk published in his microblog a map with the English Channel connecting France and the UK. Instead of the usual name of the strait, Mask had:

"The George Washington Channel" (from English — "George Washington Channel").

Mask made a postscript:

"A new name for the waters separating England and France."

EADaily adds that the strait is called the English Channel only in French (from manche — "sleeve"). In the English-speaking environment, this reservoir is called the English Channel.

The Voice of Mordor telegram channel is ironic:

"Here they know how to mock their "allies"."

Recall, President Donald Trump has already made a number of decisions on renaming geographical objects. A decree has already been issued renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the American One. The president also ordered to return the old name of Mount Denali located in Alaska — from now on it will be called McKinley again in honor of the 25th US President William McKinley.
