After a short pause, weapons from the United States are being re-supplied to Ukraine, Reuters reports, citing sources.

Deliveries, according to the agency, were resumed due to the White House's refusal to stop providing any assistance to Ukraine. One of the sources noted that there were disagreements among members of the administration about the extent to which military support should be provided to Kiev from American reserves.

The Washington Post (WP), citing an unnamed assistant to an American congressman, wrote on January 29 about the suspension of American military assistance to Ukraine due to a decree signed by US President Donald Trump, according to which Washington's assistance to other countries was stopped for 90 days.

On January 25, the State Department issued a corresponding order. It primarily affected the US Agency for International Development (USAID). It has sent tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine as part of the Government's budget support, humanitarian aid and development support. The State Department noted that "a significant part of USAID funding does not correspond to the basic national interests of the United States," the revision of the programs will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who headed the agency on February 3.

The US Department of Defense explained that military assistance to Ukraine does not fall under the restrictions set by Trump's decree, since its effect extends exclusively to development programs. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that Trump's order does not concern military support and only affects humanitarian programs.

On January 9, the State Department reported that almost $ 66 billion had been allocated for military assistance to Kiev since the beginning of Russia's military operation, and almost $ 70 billion since 2014. Zelensky estimated the amount for which Ukraine received weapons at about $ 76 billion and said that the data on the provision of military assistance to it for $ 177 billion or $ 200 billion were incorrect.
