In Brussels, unknown people opened fire from Kalashnikov assault rifles at a metro station

This morning, February 5, at the Clemenceau metro station in There was a shooting in Brussels.

Two men, probably young, opened fire with automatic weapons. Currently, a search is underway for criminals who, according to police, could be hiding in the subway tunnels. No one was injured, but the incident caused disruptions in public transport.

City surveillance footage shows how two hooded men began firing automatic weapons into the air. Belgian media reported that it could have been Kalashnikov assault rifles. After a while, the criminals disappeared towards the station.

A spokeswoman for the Brussels-South police, Sarah Frederick, said that criminals could still be in the subway tunnels between the Clemenceau station, where the shooting took place, and the Brussels-South station. They are currently being searched for, and the police are also combing the surrounding area.

As a result of the shooting, no one was injured, but the incident led to a partial shutdown of metro lines No. 2 and No. 6, as well as several tram lines in the Belgian capital. At the moment, this event is not considered a terrorist act.
