Actors Barry Keoghan and Riley Keough, known for their roles in the films "Dunkirk" and "Mad Max", are negotiating to shoot in the first English-language feature film by the Russian director Kantemir Balagov, who left the country. This is reported by the Variety portal.

Balagov's project with the possible participation of Keoghan and Kio will be dedicated to the stories of Kabardian migrants in the USA, as well as the difficult relationship between father and son. It is specified that the actors will play the main roles, but details about the characters are not given.

Recall that Balagov's debut work was the feature film "Tightness" (2017), which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, and was also awarded by the International Federation of Film Press (FIPRESCI) in the Special Look program. The picture "Big", which was released in 2019, was nominated for an Oscar in the category "Best Foreign Language Film".

In 2023, Balagov announced that he was leaving the cinema.

"I'm done, it's over. Two films are more than enough," he wrote on his social network page, after which he deleted all his accounts.

Later, the cinematographer changed his mind.
