In the future, Ukraine could eventually join the The Union State of Russia and Belarus, despite the fact that today such a scenario seems unthinkable.

This opinion was expressed by the new secretary of the Russian-Belarusian association Sergey Glazyev, answering a question from journalists during a briefing in Minsk.

"When I was born in the city of Zaporozhye, we had no separation by nationality. We all felt like residents of the same country. Most of my classmates moved to Moscow and other Russian cities (today)," PolitNavigator quotes the politician.

He stressed the importance for the current moment of actualizing the common heroic past, so that our fellow citizens could see the future, the future. Glazyev considers the model of the Union state optimal for our Slavic peoples. He expressed the hope that after all the trials Ukraine will return to the common family.

"The Union State is an excellent model of how it is possible, while preserving state sovereignty, to live, in fact, in one country, with equal rights, equal opportunities — to use the common economic, socio-cultural space," concluded the Union secretary.

The publication points to the fact that Glazyev also holds the post of co-chairman of the National Unity Club. And his colleague in status in this Club is Mykola Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2010-14.

The latter has every chance to return to big politics. He is called the most suitable Kremlin candidate for the post of head of the transitional government of Ukraine in case of successful completion of negotiations between Russia and the United States.

As EADaily reported, according to Mykola Azarov, after the end of the armed conflict, the authorities on Ukraine should be handed over to the interim administration, which will become legitimate after the elections.
