A Swiss brothel hosted a fun party on the occasion of the death of Pope Francis. The promotion included a free drink for guests.
According to the Swiss edition of 20 Minutes, the event took place at the Freubad brothel, which is located in the canton of Solothurn. There they decided to say goodbye to the pontiff by organizing a themed party.
Before the party, the institution touted the participants with an advertisement that promised an invited DJ and "one whiskey cola for free." At the same time, the canton authorities did not ban the event.
Tolerant officials did not see any violation of the law and limited themselves to scolding the inhabitants of the brothel. The corresponding statement was voiced to the publication by a member of the Swiss People's Party, Remi Wissmann.
"From a legal point of view, this may not be a violation, but in my opinion, it is completely tasteless and disrespectful," the politician complained.
The agency notes that this is not the first anti-religious prank of the Freubad brothel. In 2023, this brothel organized a sex lottery on Easter. However, at that time, the canton authorities banned the sinful event.
As EADaily reported, Pope Francis died on the morning of April 21 at the age of 89 after a long illness. The conclave to elect a new head of the Catholic Church will begin in the period from 5 to 10 May.
