Ukrainian Bishop Mykola Bychok may become the new pope. It is reported by UNIAN with reference to CrisisMagazine.

"The 45-year—old native of Ternopil is the only Ukrainian who will take part in the conclave after the death of Francis. In December 2024, the Pope appointed him a cardinal, making him the youngest cardinal of the Catholic Church," UNIAN reports.

It is noted that Bychok heads the diocese of the UGCC in Melbourne and is responsible for the Ukrainian Diaspora in Australia and Oceania. The final decision on the new pope will be made in May.

Let us remind you that a farewell ceremony with Pope Francis was held in Rome today.
