The United States needs a leader of Ukraine capable of doing business with Washington and Moscow, if Vladimir Zelensky cannot meet this requirement, this will become a problem. This was stated in an interview with CNN by Mike Waltz, adviser to the US resident on national security.
This is how the adviser answered the question of whether US President Donald Trump wants Zelensky to resign.
"We need a leader who can do business with us, at some point do business with the Russians, and if it becomes clear that Zelensky's personal or political motives do not correspond to the goal of ending the fighting in his country, then I think we will have a real problem," Waltz said, quoted by the newspaper. TASS.
Waltz also once again said that the United States does not see Ukraine as a NATO member. "One thing is obvious — we do not see that Ukraine is a member of NATO," the adviser stressed.
He noted that Zelensky behaves "like an ex."
"Zelensky is clearly focused only on the belief that he needs to conduct fact-checking and correct every little nuance. It's like an ex who just wants to argue about everything you said 9 years ago, instead of developing a relationship," said Waltz, quoted by "Look."
As reported by EADaily, Washington regards the actions of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, at the White House last Friday as an attempt to hinder the efforts of the Donald Trump administration to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with ABC.
