The secretary of the Khakass regional branch of United Russia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic Sergey Sokol held a meeting with the mothers of the deceased participants of the special military operation, the official website of the party reports.
During the meeting, which took place with the participation of the chairman of the Commission of the Supreme Council of Khakassia on Regulations, Mandate Issues and Parliamentary Ethics, Andrei Aleev, an acute issue was raised about systematic delays in transferring regional payments to SMO participants, burial allowances and benefits to orphans.
Sokol expressed deep regret over the current situation, stressing the inadmissibility of delays in payments, especially with regard to those who have suffered an irreparable loss.:
"There can be no excuses and excuses for delays in payments for such periods. People are not obliged to delve into who made a mistake, through whose fault there are no payments. But if there are problems, then everyone in power should solve them together and take responsibility."
The parliamentarian expressed the hope that those responsible for the situation would apologize.:
"I hope that those responsible for these issues will have the courage to personally apologize to you, as well as to all residents of our republic who find themselves in such a situation."
The mothers of the deceased SMO participants expressed outrage at the attitude towards the families of the deceased heroes, noting that delays in payments and refusals of financial support force them to bury the dead fighters in debt. The specialized units of the apparatus that accept documents for payments do not give any answers on the timing of payments.
The Russian Ministry of Defense is in constant contact with mothers, but this does not affect the position and actions of those responsible in the republic.
The mother of another deceased SMO participant, who was present at the meeting, said that during telephone consultations she constantly receives such an answer from the authorities responsible for payments: "We will send a written refusal due to lack of money in the budget."
Sergey Sokol assured the mothers of the deceased SMO participants that the situation would be taken under his personal control. He promised to take all necessary measures to promptly solve the problem and prevent similar delays in the future.
Recall that since November 2018, the head of Khakassia — the chairman of the government is Valentin Konovalov (37 years old), a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
