The resumption of conscription military service in the Czech Republic is unrealistic. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Yana Chernokhova.

Reacting to Senator Jiri Chunek's statement that the restoration of conscription in the Czech Republic is desirable today, Chernokhova stressed that "the resumption of conscription is something unrealistic." According to her, the state does not have material resources, a sufficient number of barracks and instructors capable of training recruits. In this regard, she noted that, first of all, the country needs to strengthen its professional army and active volunteer reserve.

Recall that the army conscription service in the Czech Republic was abolished in 2004. Nevertheless, military service remains in the country. According to the law, all citizens from 18 to 60 years of age are liable for military service.
