Russian election committee announces first results of presidential election

The Russian Central Election has processed almost 22% of the voting protocols. Under preliminary data, Vladimir Putin received almost 72.14% of the votes. Pavel Grudinin is coming second with about 16%. Vladimir Zhirinovsky has a little less than 7%, Ksenia Sobchak 1.4%. All the other candidates receive less than 1%.

Vladimir Putin’s election headquarters have already started celebrating the victory. They expect the president to arrive; he promised to come during the vote count.

The voter turnout is about 60%.
