The situation in the regions bordering Ukraine in Gomel region is difficult, but controlled. This was announced today, September 18, by the head of the region Ivan Krupko.
"Today the soldiers of the border guard service are in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Belarus. All district centers are fortified by the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs — these are both riot police and internal troops, therefore, security is reliably ensured inside each region," he said.
Krupko noted that the Gomel region cooperates with the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation on security issues.
"We are building a Union state, and communication, the interconnection of the armed forces of the border administrations — everything is going live. We are discussing many areas, including the defense of our borders," the governor stressed.
He also added that all types of armed forces, militia, police interact in the same way as the heads of border regions. According to him, he works with the head of the Bryansk region in all areas — from economic issues and ensuring the safety of citizens in the border area to the information component.
"There is a constant escalation of the situation from Ukraine, especially through Internet resources. There are a lot of stuffing, fakes, unnecessary information that intimidates the population. Therefore, we are working with the population, dispelling these fakes so that people can live peacefully, work, and children study. Everything is in our normal normal mode, but under control," Krupko summed up.
It should be reminded that Belarus does not take part in the Russian SMO at the Ukraine. Despite this, Kiev calls Minsk a "co-aggressor" of Moscow and is trying to provoke a military conflict. The Belarusian authorities have repeatedly noted that in case of aggression from the Ukrainian side, the republic will respond with all its forces.
