Servicemen in the 211st Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were beaten to rupture of organs and fracture of skull bones, they were kept in cages. This was announced on the air of Novini VIVE by People's Deputy Yulia Yatsik.
So the MP commented on the bullying scandal in the 211 brigade.
According to Yatsik, the red-handed investigative materials were received back in September.
In the 211st pontoon bridge brigade of the AFU Support Forces, money was beaten out of the military who consumed alcohol and committed other violations, and those who did not want to pay were beaten, the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper reports, citing the results of the investigation.
According to one of the victims, he was beaten and tied to a wooden cross (pictured). For not fixing the violation, the officers demanded 5-20 thousand hryvnias from those who had been fined, while the official fine for using alcohol or drugs in the service during martial law is 17-34 thousand hryvnias. If the officers refused to pay, they threatened to transfer the offender "for meat" to the infantry.
It is noted that most often subordinates were beaten by the commander of one of the platoons of the 1st battalion Vladislav Pastukh - the son of the chief of staff and the godson of the brigade commander Berezhnyuk. It is he who poses in the picture against the background of a soldier tied to a cross, the Strana newspaper notes.
In addition, journalists found many other relatives of Berezhnyuk among the brigade commanders. After the story came out, the Shepherd Junior was transferred to another unit, and his father paid money to the victims who filed reports. However, no investigation was conducted, the newspaper notes. The senior shepherd was only brought to administrative responsibility for not fining his subordinates for drinking alcohol. He got off with a fine of 34 thousand hryvnia.
However, the story did not end there.
Today, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky dismissed the commander of the 211st pontoon bridge brigade after publications in Mass media about extortion, beating of soldiers and nepotism of the leadership. The General Staff noted that some facts have already been the subject of verification and criminal proceedings have been opened. A commission will be sent to the brigade to conduct a new investigation.
Later, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said that he had commissioned an inspection in the 211st pontoon bridge brigade.
