The commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Mikhail Drapaty, has also been appointed commander of the Khortytsia operational-strategic grouping of troops operating in the south Donbass direction. This was stated in an evening video message by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
"Major-General Mikhail Drapaty has been sent to lead the operational-strategic grouping of the Khortytsia troops. These are the most brutal areas of fighting," Zelensky said.
At the same time, Drapaty will retain the position of commander of the Ground Forces.
The former commander of Khortytsia, Andrei Gnatov, has been appointed deputy chief of the General Staff to improve the interaction of headquarters with the front, Zelensky added.
As EADaily reported, the Russian army liberated the village of Velikaya Novoselka in the DPR. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It should be recalled that Velikaya Novoselka is the last large, well—prepared defense line and logistics hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south Donetsk direction.
As reported by EADaily, the Ukrainian Armed Forces traditionally deny the real state of affairs.
The speaker of the command of the operational-strategic grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Khortytsia" Viktor Tregubov said on the telethon that "we cannot say that Velikaya Novoselka is occupied" by Russian troops.
As EADaily reported, at this stage, generals Mikhail Drapaty or Yevgeny Moisyuk are best suited as the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of mentality, vision and experience, which would increase the chances of victory, wrote People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Mariana Bezuglaya in her telegram channel.
