US President Donald Trump called a brilliant speech by his Vice President Jay Dee Vance at the Munich Security Conference, in which he criticized the European Union for censorship and lack of democracy.

"A very good speech, actually very brilliant," Politiko quotes him as saying.

Trump noted that Vance "talked about freedom of speech," and "in Europe they are losing their wonderful right to freedom of speech," so she "should be careful," CNN writes.

The day before, the annual Munich Security Conference began in Germany. From the United States, Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg went to the conference.

During his speech, Vance, in particular, questioned the strength of European democracy, expressed concern about censorship in Europe and called migration the main challenge to its security.
