The second place is occupied by the ultra—right Alternative for Germany (AfD), the third by the Social Democratic Party (SPD).
The winning party will have to form a ruling coalition. The political forces of Germany had previously refused to cooperate with the AfD, so its chances of entering the future government are reduced to zero. At the same time, it may become the second largest force in the Bundestag.
