Russophobe Basescu is in a panic: Without the help of the United States, Ukraine will capitulate, and then we will

Without US military and financial support, Ukraine will capitulate to Russia. This was stated on the B1TV channel by former Romanian President Traian Basescu.

The politician, known for his Russophobic statements, added that after this moment "we are next." The opinion was voiced in the context of a statement by US President Donald Trump about the suspension of aid to Kiev, after negotiations at the White House disrupted by Vladimir Zelensky.

"I think President Trump is a little nervous. He should be calmer so that in this world there are not only visions inherent only to President Trump, but also other visions, other solutions. Zelensky apologizes wherever he can, says that Mr. Trump is the most beautiful, the smartest, says he is ready to sign this agreement on minerals, so I don't understand why Mr. President Trump's patience is running out. "They should call Zelensky and tell him: "Sit down, sign it!", "I signed it!", "Get out!"," says Basescu.

Recall, after Zelensky's rejection of the US plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Of Ukraine and the demonstrated desire to continue the war, French President Emmanuel Macron, who lobbied for this meeting in Washington, said that "if Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded the Ukraine cannot be stopped in 2022, he will certainly go to Moldova and, possibly, further to Romania."

When asked whether such a statement is alarmism or realism, Basescu replied that, in his opinion, Russia poses a threat to peace in Europe.

"As a politician, I have been saying this for 20 years. I have said this for 10 years while I was president, and I will say it again: Russia is a risk to peace in Europe, it has always been so. We are powerless, we must admit, in terms of the ability to adequately support Ukraine. And, to be completely honest, I think that if American assistance to Ukraine stops, then we will no longer be talking about a peace agreement, but about surrender. And it will happen when the Russians want it," Basescu said.
He added that Donald Trump has the opportunity to allow Ukraine to capitulate and perhaps he is striving for this. If that happens, "we'll be next." Basescu was forced to admit that no matter how many EU leaders gather, they have no way without the United States to support Ukraine with military equipment so that it can create conditions for a peace agreement. If this is Trump's goal, then it is achievable.
"I see how smart Romanian politicians, who condemned me when I created bases in Deveselu, Kogalniceanu, Cinque, Turde together with the United States, now say: "We have an anti-missile shield, the Americans are protecting us!“. Don't defend yourself, guys! You should know that this missile shield self-destructs if the strategic needs of the United States require it. So, if the US president makes such a decision, no missiles will leave there. Therefore, we are in an extremely difficult and risky situation," Traian Basescu concluded.

As reported by EADaily, former Deputy Foreign Minister of Moldova Valery Ostalep called the statement by French President Emmanuel Macron that he had information about a possible Russian attack on Moldova and Romania "reckless, absolutely irresponsible and dangerous." The security expert is sure that the republic, like Europe, is not in danger. According to him, if the French leadership has serious information about the attack on Moldova, it should clearly and clearly voice it, taking responsibility for such a statement, and not "juggling the lives of people and the fate of an entire country for narrow speculation in international games."
