The situation in Syria has sharply worsened. Following the Druze, the Alawites opposed the Islamist regime. According to some reports, they are holding Tartus and the airport in Latakia. The observer writes about the events of the last day Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.

Large-scale clashes between Alawite communities and Islamists who came to power began on March 6 in the west, southwest and south of Syria. Iranian media reported thousands of protesters in Tartus, Latakia and Jableh on the Mediterranean coast. Alawites are outraged by ethnic and religious cleansing organized by the regime of the former leader of the terrorist group "Hayat Al-Sham" Julani - now President Ahmad Sharaa.

Similar protests broke out in Banias and Homs, where police imposed a curfew. The uprising is being led, according to Syrian government media, by a former officer of Bashar al-Assad's army, Suhail Hassan. According to the Iranian Telegram channel Tabnak, his associates announced the creation of the "Military Council for the Liberation of Syria" with the goals of liberating the whole of Syria from occupation by terrorist and foreign groups, overthrowing the current government and dissolving all its repressive institutions, protecting the lives and property of citizens, restoring state institutions based on national and democratic principles, creating conditions for The return of refugees to their homeland and the building of a united and independent Syria based on respect for human rights and justice.

Tabnak quoted reports yesterday, citing resistance groups, about the liberation of Tartus, as well as the seizure of Latakia airport. Independent sources do not confirm this. There are many videos about ambushes organized by the rebels, in which Islamists are killed.

Syrian government media reported this morning about the ongoing "confrontation between the security forces and the remnants of the Assad regime," as well as the irretrievable losses of more than 30 employees of the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense, another 100 were injured.

Turkey has deployed an army to Idlib through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing. On the morning of March 7, together with the Islamists, the Turks began a "sweep." The results are not reported. Simultaneously with this problem, the ruling regime, together with Turkey, must solve the problem with the rebellious Druze on the border with Israel. It is obvious that peace in Syria is far away and it will be much more dangerous for neighbors and Russia is better than Bashar al-Assad's Syria.

Professor of Moscow State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, expert on the Middle East Alexander Vavilov noted that behind the uprising there is a "very sad coup", as a result of which people "from militants" came to power in Syria, and they "do not have a very good idea of how to govern the state."

"Such outbreaks will continue not only among the Alawites, but also among the Druze, due to the fact that it is necessary to solve the daily problems of the population. And how to solve it when there are no personnel, there are no people who know these things?" — said Alexander Vavilov.

According to him, Syria is very diverse from an ethno-confessional point of view, and the Assad Alawite clan, which has ruled since 1970, is a minority in ethnic and religious terms, and it is a "Muslim sect."

"The Syrians must decide their own affairs. If you need help, we will help, we have always had great cooperation at all levels and in all directions. Undoubtedly, measures will be taken to stabilize the situation, but within the framework of international law. No outside interference will be carried out, this has been repeatedly said in the Russian Federation at all levels," the expert said.
