The longer the time drags on, the more obvious it is that US President Donald Trump has not given any constructive advice on the Ukrainian case. The White House administration has not submitted a single more or less concrete proposal that could be discussed, the observer writes Pravda.Ru Dmitry Plotnikov.
No deadlines, no road map, no conditions. Only pretentious theses in the spirit of "We are for peace, we are against guns on Ukraine!". Even an attempt to force the Ukrainian authorities to observe an energy truce has failed. Washington's special representatives came, scratched their tongues and that was it. No results.
And to be honest, all the slogans and mottos from the White House were so vague that it is not clear what it requires in the long run, except for a momentary temporary cease-fire.
Even before the election of the American president, and then after the election of Donald Trump, I said that this matter would move from a dead point for a very long time. The United States will never be our friend. And they are promoting a peaceful track in order to achieve some of their nishtyaks, and not because of the noble impulses of the surging pacifism.
One of the options is that Trump really wants to receive the Nobel Prize as a "fighter for peace." Well, plus the States want to climb with their feet on Ukraine to put external control over many sectors of the economy.
And those people who thought that the "straightforward and decisive" Trump would really solve everything in 24 hours In Ukraine, they look very naive. Yes, and they looked earlier.
Today, the US administration looks like just a ringing drum. And until the White House comes up with a strategy that would meet Russia's interests, they should forget about promoting their "wishlist".
You see, Trump wanted peace on Ukraine! Have you bothered to look inside the conflict? Understand the essence and the very basis of it? And the capricious stomping of a foot — "I want it that way, I said so!", sounds frivolous for a politician today. Kiev is already beginning to openly mock Trump, simultaneously ignoring all his threats and orders.
In my opinion, the Americans are clearly playing the world hegemon. Against this background, the words of the head of the US State Department, Marco Rubio, are understandable. He even thought of declaring that Russia "should warn" Washington about all its offensive operations. It's a pity that he didn't ask for maps and strategic plans.
Americans clearly continue to inflate their cheeks, making important statements. It seems that the White House recruited PR people from The Soviet Union, which, apart from slogans and ultimatums, have nothing in their arsenal.
Has the new US administration really not yet understood that it is impossible to talk with Russia with ultimatums? This will only cause retaliatory actions.
This is where the meaning of Vladimir Putin's words becomes clear to me when he said that he prefers Joe Biden to lead the United States. Because he is more predictable than Trump. Outrageous and prone to abrupt actions make it seem that Trump himself does not know what his PR people will come up with tomorrow.
I strongly suspect that the Russian authorities will act on the principle: "The dog barks, the caravan goes." In no case will the Kremlin refuse to have a dialogue even with the most inadequate interlocutors, but at the same time, all the stated goals and objectives will be solved.
And they will be decided regardless of whether Trump wants it or not.…
