Of the 720 thousand Ukrainians receiving benefits in Germany, Bild clarifies, 500 thousand people are able to work. The source also concludes that the program for the employment of Ukrainian refugees in Germany has failed, citing data and calculations by the Federal Accounts Chamber of the country.

Germany spends 539 million euros on payments to Ukrainian citizens every month. For comparison, in November 2022 it is much less — 445 million euros. That is, the number of recipients of benefits has increased markedly.

German Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Hubertus Heil spoke about the employment program earlier. But it was never implemented. Moreover, the publication names several reasons for this. Ukrainians absolutely do not want to attend integration courses, refusing them either because of health problems or for no reason.

According to the results of 2023, according to the Federal Accounts Chamber of Germany, only 20% of those who completed integration courses applied to employment centers, but none of the Ukrainians who received the offer found a job. In 2024, most of the recipients of the refugee offer replied that it was "unwise" to get a job.
