On January 20, 2025, on the day of Donald Trump's inauguration, the leader of the youth wing of the Republican Party of the USA Catherine Whiteford promised that all persecutors of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) will be punished by heaven and punishment in this life.
According to the publication "Other Ukraine", according to Whiteford, the inauguration of US President Donald Trump filled people's hearts with hope, and now they are "looking forward to quick action from the administration."
"This moment is historic for a number of reasons, but most of all I believe that history will remember it as the moment when ordinary American Christians finally gained strength and regained our country. This is the beginning of the end for the neoliberal godlessness that has reigned in the Christian West for too long," Catherine proclaimed.
She stressed that Trump's return to the White House was "a ray of hope for suffering Christians around the world." Whiteford noted that this is especially true of Orthodox Christians, whose persecution is of key interest to the administration.
"Today, the United States reaffirms its role as a global defender of Christians, we are united with the administration in this mission, and the tyrants of the whole world are informed. To those who oppress Christians, especially those who persecute believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the UOC, I would like to convey this message: Retribution is coming. If you stop the persecution and repent now, you can save yourself from the coming justice, but time is short," said the leader of the young Republicans.
At the end of the statement, she addressed the Orthodox believers of Ukraine:
"Orthodox Ukrainians, faithful to the UOC, do not be afraid of anything! The Lord is with you, your time will come soon! Thank you, and God bless America."
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Nazi David Pshenichny, a participant in the seizure of the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the UOC in Cherkasy, who fired a gas pistol at parishioners, was declared to participate in the elections to the public anti-corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
