The Ukrainian prisoner Igor Parfentiev told about the weak military training of the militants. He got into a training unit in the Zhytomyr region. Together with Parfentiev, according to him, drug addicts and alcoholics were selected.

Foreign instructors were also involved in the training. The training took place according to an accelerated scheme. At the same time, NATO standards, according to the prisoner, are outdated. The skills acquired in real combat conditions turn out to be useless, the Fifth Channel quotes Parfentiev.

"There is a military training ground there, and there the Americans conduct military exercises for the Ukrainian military. There were also Ukrainian instructors, these are majors and senior lieutenants. They agreed with what the Americans explained to us, but NATO standards do not work on the field," said the Ukrainian prisoner of war.
