People's Artist of Russia, theater and film actor, State Duma deputy Dmitry Pevtsov was sentenced in absentia under three articles of the Criminal Code on Ukraine. This is reported by the SBU in the telegram channel.
It is indicated that Pevtsov "repeatedly disseminated anti-Ukrainian narratives," "often appeared on the airwaves of the central TV channels of Russia, where he called for the seizure of state power and the entire territory of Ukraine."
The artist was found guilty under three articles: actions aimed at forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or state power; encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine; propaganda of war.
"The attacker was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property," the report says.
What kind of property Ukraine intends to confiscate from the actor is not specified.
As EADaily reported, in February 2022, Pevtsov was sanctioned by the European Union, as well as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom for ratifying treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
In March 2022, the artist was included in the sanctions list of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
