Acceleration of the sweep of the Kursk bridgehead and the results of Velikaya Novoselka and Dzerzhinsk

To date, the Kursk and Donetsk fronts continue to be the most active in comparison with all other directions on the line of combat contact without exception. And therefore, the effectiveness today is characteristic mainly of these fronts.

So, on the Kursk front, by the evening of February 25, assault platoon tactical groups of the 1st Motorized rifle Battalion of the 9th SME of the 34th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the GRV "North" established control over the village of Pogrebki, the confrontation for which lasted for several long months. The formations of the 22nd separate mechanized brigade were pushed back to the southern outskirts of Orlovka and A new Sorochina, where the fire contact has shifted. It also became known about the ousting of the enemy from most of Orlovka. The attack aircraft of the 34th brigade are conducting offensive operations, relying on the ridge of commanding heights along the Lgov-Sudzha railway line and the adjacent forest belt 1.5 km east of Orlovka.

By February 27, units of the 34th Motorized Rifle Brigade continued successful offensive operations south of Orlovka. And by noon, control was established over the settlement of Novaya Sorochina, and by evening over the Nikolsky farm. At the same time, the fire contact has already shifted to the northern environs of Staraya Sorochina, as well as the Lgov — Sudzha — Russian Transverse road junction, which is tactically important for the enemy. In the Sudzhansky operational direction, the airborne assault groups of the 106th Airborne Tula Division continue to successfully use the Sverdlovsk bridgehead to advance along the Loknya riverbed in a southeasterly direction. Also, the attack aircraft of the North group of forces managed to enter the north-western areas of Malaya Lokni, which was well protected by the enemy, and impose fire contact on T.D. Pugachev and Sotnitskaya. Fighting continues near Staraya Sorochina and Nikolaevka.

Having occupied Lebedevka settlement, Tula paratroopers continued to break through Molatovka Street and were able to knock out the enemy from Lebedevskoye farm, gaining a foothold in nearby forest plantations. The "hook" of the breakthrough was 5000 — 5500 m. Reconnaissance groups of the 106th Airborne Forces are already present in the forest plantations at the tactically important height of 211 m, the establishment of control over which will make it possible to more rapidly advance on the Cossack Village, crowding the formations of the 36th OBrMP, the 210th OSP and the 41st separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south-east direction.

Also, the airborne assault platoon tactical units of the 106th Airborne Tula Division carried out a southern 3-kilometer tactical "hook" from the southeastern outskirts of Sverdlikovo with overcoming the Russian-Ukrainian. borders in the direction of Novenke settlement with the final establishment of full control over it. Formations of the 1st separate tank brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced out of an area of about 4.5 - 5 square kilometers and rolled back to pre—prepared fortification sites in the locality of Basovka. The key goal of the Tula paratroopers is to break through to the section of the Yunakovka -Sudzha highway N—07 in the area of the Sudzha APP, which will reduce the supply of the Sudzhansky fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the branched chain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk by more than 70%.

On the western flank of the Dzerzhinsky salient, the beginning of the operation of blocking the "Kalinovsky pocket" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, saturated with fortification nodes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kalinovo, Aleksondropol, Sukhoi Beam, Staraya Nikolaevsk and Zara, is recorded. The formation of the "neck" was launched by assault units of the 132-motorized rifle brigade of the GRV "South" 1 km southwest of Leonidovka. Directions of promotion "Romanovka — Zarya — Alexandropol (upper)". The company-tactical formations of the 1st OPBR, the 5th separate brigade of the NSU and the 109th separate brigade of the TRO turn out to be in the fire bag.

In the Velikonovoselkovsky direction, active offensive actions of platoon tactical mechanized assault groups of the 60th separate Motorized rifle brigade of the 5th Combined Arms Army continued for a week in the direction of the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. During one of these throws, which took place on February 25, the Vostok ground attack aircraft were able to knock out the formations of the 110th and 141st mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from a tactical "pocket" with an area of 11.8 square kilometers located on the northwestern flank of Vremevka. As a result, the enemy was pushed back to the Krutoy ravine area.

And already on February 28, it became known about the successful storming by the fighters of the 60 brigade of the settlement of Burlatskoye, as well as the consolidation of a separate platoon in the southeastern part of Privolny and the advance of the assault groups of the Russian army to the Shevchenko -Burlatskoye road segment to block the supply of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the latter. In the next few days, another ridge of settlements is expected to be stormed 10 km northwest of Velikaya Novoselka, including Volnoye Pole, Shevchenko and Skudnoye.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Kulagovka— Golubovka segment remains the most active. So, by noon, on February 23, assault platoon tactical units of the 25th Motorized Rifle Brigade carried out an assault on a large AFU stronghold at a commanding height near Golubovka and took control of a large part of Golubovka.

Formations of the 112th and 114th TrO brigades were partially pushed back to Kupyansk and partially dispersed southeast of Sinkovka. As a result, the supply isthmus of the "pocket" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under Kulagovka was narrowed to only 150 — 200 m. As you know, this "pocket" is wedged 2.8 km deep into the defense of the 25th brigade of the GdV "West" in the Sinkovsky forest and may soon be eliminated.

There is also an ongoing attempt to eliminate the AFU's fire "bag" near Petropavlovsk, over which the formations of the 14th separate mechanized Brigade of the AFU still retain control. Fire support for the assault units of the Zapad GRV in this direction is provided by the crews of the T-80BV and T-72B3M gas turbine MBT, working both from closed positions and direct, as well as semi-direct guidance. The use of kamikaze UAVs of the Molniya-2 aircraft type has also become more intensive in the Kupyansk direction.

It is worth noting that in the Kupyansk direction, the enemy uses the M113A1 armored personnel carrier as a priority for the transfer of troops, which are increasingly becoming targets for shock FPV copters with fiber-optic control channels.
