BRICS and SCO lack concrete solutions. This was announced today, October 31, at the II Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The Belarusian leader drew attention to the fact that a request has been formed in the world to move away from the unipolar world order. The reaction to it, according to him, was the emergence of the regional SCO, the global BRICS as platforms for uniting like-minded people.
"That is, the world began to look for some way out of the unipolar world," he said.
At the same time, Lukashenko called for an honest assessment of the SCO and BRICS.
"Let's be frank about our aspirations and hopes for the SCO and BRICS. I expressed this idea at the SCO meeting at the time and still adhere to this position. We place too much hope today on regional and global organizations, for example, the SCO and BRICS. This was evident despite the successful holding of the BRICS (summit. — EADaily) in Kazan. Unfortunately, it was clear that we were "telepathizing", in popular parlance, and not taking concrete steps to develop this global organization — BRICS. And people want alternatives," Lukashenko said.
It should be recalled that Belarus received the status of an SCO member in 2024, as well as a BRICS partner country.
