Azerbaijan has never been and will never be an ally of Russia. This opinion was shared by Konstantin Zatulin, first deputy chairman of the Committee of the lower house of Parliament on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, in an interview with the Moscow Says radio station. According to him, Baku can be regarded only as a "situational partner."
"There is an escalation of grievances on the part of Azerbaijan. When it came to the tragedy of the plane crash, one could understand the bitterness experienced not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Of the Russian Federation. For certain reasons, Azerbaijan decided to heal this wound as long as possible, although Russia apologized. I have been banned from entering Azerbaijan for almost 15 years. Now this fate has befallen Nikolai Valuev for the simple reason that he expressed his opinion. There is no way in Azerbaijan can agree that someone has their own opinion about what is happening in Azerbaijan. For a very long time, Azerbaijan has been interested in flattering itself and negotiating comfortable conditions for relations with the Russian Federation, not only economically, but also in military and political terms," Zatulin said.
Russia, according to him, is in a vulnerable position itself, because it quarrels with the collective West.
"This is just the right time to show your true attitude to To the Russian house, and to Of the Russian Federation. Despite all attempts to present Azerbaijan as a friend and ally of the Russian Federation, I consider our partnership situational at best. I don't know to whom Azerbaijan is a friend, except for itself, but it is a junior strategic partner and junior ally for Turkey. He was not and will not be an ally for Russia, most likely, given the direction of the current actions of the Azerbaijani leadership. It does not hesitate to create problems for us not only with the Russian house, but also with many other things. If for the time being we tried not to notice this, now it becomes clear even to the blind and deaf," said the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.
As EADaily reported, today State Duma deputy Nikolai Valuev was banned from entering Azerbaijan. He criticized Baku's plans to close the Russian House.
