Will Kiev be able to do without US intelligence? Easy

The subject of acute discussions in Russian and foreign expert communities was the information about the termination of the provision to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of intelligence received by the orbital group of optoelectronic (TV/IR), radar and radio intelligence of the US National Directorate of Military Space Intelligence (NRO). This was previously stated by CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

Also, according to information from relevant resources, over 130 spacecraft of the US Department of Defense were reoriented to tracking the border with Mexico and Canada. At least 54 satellites have been reoriented to control the Taiwan Strait and the situation around the island state.

It was noted that the Pentagon stops paying for the services of commercial satellite imagery of the territory of the Russian Federation, Belarus and the borders of these countries, which was carried out in the interests of Ukraine by satellites of optical-electronic monitoring of the Earth's surface from Maxar and Planet Labs.

Nevertheless, just two hours later, with reference to Sky News, clarifying information was received that only the transmission of the spectrum of information that provided the kamikaze UAV units, as well as the calculations of the Neptune-MD missile systems and the Su-24MR crews of the Air Force with the possibility of operational strikes on anti-aircraft deployed in the rear would be stopped.- missile divisions, clusters of equipment and OTRK "Iskander-M". That is, by mobile air defense systems of the Anti-Aircraft Missile Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as the Missile Forces and Artillery of Russia.

This means that information about the tactical situation directly on the line of combat contact and in the near rear (including the coordinates of the Russian army reserves advancing from the rear) will continue to be received by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as by Delta's automated tactical control systems.

Moreover, it is known that, in close cooperation with the NRO orbital grouping, the well-known infrared missile attack warning system SBIRS is also working, notifying the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the launches of the Iskander−M 9M723-1 and Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles using infrared radiation from rocket engine flares. It is logical to assume that this system will continue to operate as before, providing the AFU formations with a "window" of time necessary to deploy personnel and some equipment in shelters a few minutes before the missile strikes.

This system will allow the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to deploy French SAMP-T anti-aircraft missile systems in missile-hazardous areas in a timely manner, from where Iskander-M is expected to strike. And as we have repeatedly noted, Aster-30 anti-aircraft missiles can boast of the highest maneuverability thanks to the gas-dynamic control "belts", which makes it possible to counteract Iskander-M and other complex maneuvering ballistic objects. Moving on.

What will follow in the event of the termination of the provision of intelligence to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force?

This is where the fun begins. The first thing worth noting is the continuation of the provision by the US Air Force of radio engineering and radar intelligence information at the Kaliningrad, Leningrad and Crimean directions to the commands The Armed Forces of Great Britain, France and Poland. There is no need to be a guru in the field of military forecasting to understand that this information will be banally relayed to the relevant structures in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And this is not to mention the fact that a 100-year strategic partnership has been concluded between Kiev and London.

We also know very well that even if the crews of the American RC-135V strategic radio and electronic reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force with the letter V suddenly cease to provide data to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by order of the Pentagon and the Command The US Armed Forces in Europe will be able to perform this task with similar British RC-135W Rivet Joint machines with the letter W. They, like their American base counterparts, are equipped with side-view passive electronic reconnaissance antenna modules as part of the AEELS system. As is known, these modules can determine the spatial coordinates of the working anti-aircraft missile radars of the Russian Aerospace Forces with an accuracy of 0.01 degrees, after which additional reconnaissance can be performed using the high-precision CS-2010 Hawk radio direction finder to accurately determine the coordinates.

The British RC-135W, like their American counterparts with the letter V, have an ES-182 MUCELS electronic reconnaissance system operating in the range from 40 to 17250 MHz. This allows her to intercept just a huge list of secure communication and data exchange channels, which are further decrypted by a group of 9 highly qualified cryptographic linguists. In a word, the same full-fledged set of intelligence information as the machines from the US Air Force.

And that's not all. There are Aerospace Forces of France and Sweden, which have E-3F Sentry long-range radar detection aircraft, as well as Saab-340 AEW&C. As is known, the former have not only the APY-2 circular view radars for detecting air and surface targets, but also the AN/AYR-1 electronic reconnaissance complex, whose functions fully correspond to those of the AEELS complex on the RC-135W aircraft of the British Air Force and consist in reconnaissance of active radar air defense systems.

The PS-890 radars of the Swedish Saab-340 AEW&C long-range detection aircraft operating in the S-wave band are capable of detecting large concentrations of armored vehicles at distances of 200 — 250 km, albeit with much lower resolution than, for example, the radars of the RQ-4B Global Hawk reconnaissance UAVs. Nevertheless, this ability turns the Saab-340 AEW& C aircraft into an intelligence tool capable of partially replacing American machines. As you can see, there is no talk of complete isolation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the loss of information awareness

As for all the announced decisions to stop providing intelligence to Kiev, what is happening so far is more like the desire of the United States, at least at the media and partly at the military-technical levels, to temporarily distance itself from Kiev's support, which is due to the same desire to receive diplomatic mediation from Moscow in negotiations between Washington and Tehran. It is also the desire of the Trump administration to save the face of a peacemaker for the period of concluding profitable multibillion-dollar deals.
