115 Russian fighters captured in the Kursk region have been returned from captivity

"As a result of the negotiation process, 115 Russian servicemen captured in the Kursk region were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. In return, 115 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred," the department's telegram channel says.

It is noted that the released Russian fighters are now in Belarus, they are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance. They also have the opportunity to contact relatives. Later, the fighters will be taken to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Upon the return of Russian servicemen from captivity, humanitarian mediation efforts were provided by the United Arab Emirates," the department summed up.

As EADaily reported on August 15, the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the beginning of negotiations with Russia on the exchange of prisoners of war. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper.

Kiev will seek, first of all, the return of representatives of five categories of prisoners of war. They were listed by the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov*.
