The Pentagon announced the development of a replacement for the S-300 air defense system and R-27 missiles for Ukraine

The Pentagon, together with partners from Europe, are developing a replacement for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) and the P—27 medium-range air-to-air guided missiles, which are in service with Ukraine. This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine at the American Ramstein airbase in Germany.

"Meanwhile, the United States, with the assistance of a number of European companies, together with Ukraine, is developing and creating a replacement for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, as well as the R—27 air-to—air missile," he said, according to TASS.
