Federal judge in Washington has ordered the administration of US President Donald Trump to cancel the decree that suspended foreign aid programs for 90 days and resume them. This is reported by the telegram channel "DW * main".
At the same time, Judge Amir Ali in his decision referred to the "large-scale damage that the sudden closure caused to organizations" abroad.
Earlier, representatives of the Trump administration said that the freezing of such funding programs was necessary in order to analyze their effectiveness. However, they "did not offer any explanation" why a complete stop of foreign aid was the only reasonable solution, and could not prove that they had a reason to ignore the many small and large organizations that would be on the verge of closure due to the termination of funding, Ali said.
As reported by EADaily, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), closed by the new American administration, spent on Ukraine spent 10% of its budget — $ 4 billion - on the maintenance of 11 thousand employees of NGOs working within the framework of 115 programs of this organization.
